                   We have finished conducting the Mini Grammar test for this term and after marking, most of the students in Care 6 are weaker in the grammar section and the comprehension open-ended questions section. Most students need help with the use of the correct tense based on the time phrase. Students had difficulty with inferential questions. Please look through your child's paper when it returned for parents signature on 26 Aug. 

                   For term 3 Week 9 (26 Aug to 30 Aug), we will be conducting the 4 picture composition in school. I will be teaching them with an example first in their MLEA book before administering the formative assessment.

Care 6 EL updates on Big Book and spelling

Dear Care 6 parents,

 

                                    First of all, I will like to clarify that I am only the English teacher of Care 6. I am not the form teacher, the form teacher is Mdm Yar. I have my own form class already.

 

                                   Thank you for the emails and calls that I have received from some of you. Indeed, I made a mistake in the Term 3 spelling list. However, the words are all correct. There were changes in the Learning Journey dates so initially 12 July I had to bring Care 3 out for Learning Journey so I put 12 July as no spelling. However, the schedule has changed. Please follow the spelling list so the next one will be on 19 July Friday instead. For Term 4 spelling, I will be more careful with the dates part. Sorry for the confusion caused.

 

                                  For Term 3 Weeks 1 and 2, we are reading the Big Book The Jigaree. It is on a book about a space creature called the Jigaree that likes to imitate a boy's actions. The grammar items to take note in this book are present continuous verbs. For example, The Jigaree is dancing after me. The Jigaree is running after me. In these sentences, the students have learnt that 'is running' are present continuous verbs. In terms of vocabulary, we explored words like Planet, Mars, outer space, space ship, alien, robot etc.

as part of the stellar curriculum, pupils are required to make a sandwich during lesson time. This helps them with their "Modified Language Experience Approach" (MLEA).

Pupils will be making sandwiches on Friday, 5 April. Bread, butter, gloves and lettuce are provided.

Please make sure your child bring the following items:

-paper plates

-fork

-butter knife

-container

-apron

-other ingredients (eg. ham, cheese, jam, tuna, mayonaisse, tuna, cucumber, tomato)

Please make sure the ingredients are halal.
